SkittleMan is a Canadian Grand Champion and is Canada's #8 Golden Retriever for 2014, all breeder/owner/handled! His most recent brag is his Best Veteran in Show at the Prince George Dog Show in July 2018!
In February 2016 he attended the Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show and came home Winners Dog! This was a very exciting trip to be showing my own dog who I bred at Westminster! I am very happy I got this chance to be there with him, I am so proud of Skittles!
He has obtained three specialty best of opposites in his career, one in 2014 at the Manitoba Sporting Dog Specialty, one in 2016 at the B.C. Sporting Dog Specialty and most recently in May 2017 at the Maritime Golden Retriever Specialty!
In July 2018, Skittles was best veteran in breed at the Westwinds Sporting Dog Specialty and also was Best Opposite in Veteran Sweeps and won Best Overall in the Breeder Sweeps! He then went onto the Sporting Dog Specialty of BC where he was Best Veteran in Breed the first day and on the second day was Best Veteran Dog and Select Dog as well!
He has obtained his Conformation Certificate of Assessment from the Golden Retriever Club of America and also has six points towards his American Championship (One Major and Two Minors - the major and one of the minors was BOW, all points from the bred by Class). Skittles has also placed BOH Group 1 in the USA as well!
He was awarded the GRCC Shadywell Trophy for Top Opposite Sex in Conformation for 2014 & 2016. In June 2016 he was awarded Award of Merit at the Golden Retriever Club of Alberta's Specialty. I am so proud of this boy, he always gives me 110% everytime we walk into the ring, he really enjoys showing. In 2015 he Earned his Canadian Show Dog Hall of Fame.
Skittles has 25 group placements total on limited showing.
His heart is ECHO Clear, Eyes are CERF normal, Hips are OFA Good & Elbows are OFA Normal. Clearances are available upon request
Skittles is a very quiet dog to have around the house, he loves everybody - dog and human alike. He "crows" every morning to let the whole house know he up! He is very entertaining and has a lot of energy. He is very birdy, I plan to work towards his WC on him late in 2016. This fall, I hope to start working him in obedience and rally, he is very intelligent and loves to please.
He has a lot of bone, a beautiful head and a lovely top line. When he moves, he covers ground and his feet hardly touch the ground! I have a written critque from a breeder/judge as well as his critque from the 3 CCA judges which are available at request as well.
Skittles is available as stud to approved bitches, please contact myself for more information. He had one litter in November 2016 (please see the "Wine" litter page and "Peanuts" page as well, he is the boy that I kept from his first litter. There was seven healthy puppies from his first litter, four males and two females. Peanut became a Grand Champion before the age of two with multiple best of breeds, puppy group winner and a group placement as well. His brother, Dart also finished his Championship in July 2018.
Skittles was also bred in February 2017 and they have reported back to me that there were nine healthy babies born, seven males and three females. Please see Stud Dogs Page for photos of the two litters.
Frozen semen is available, please inquire.
